Color Theory Basics

There are two main types of colors. First-Ordered colors are separated into three groups. There are RGB (red, green, and blue) which are used in technologies like TV and film. Then there’s CMY (Cyan, Magenta, and yellow) which are used with reflected light technologies such as printings. Finally there is the main primary colors YRB (yellow, red, and blue. The other type of colors are Second-Ordered colors which are made by mixing the primary colors together. Blue-Violet is made up of 75% blue and 25% red, whereas, Red-Violet is 25% blue and 75% red and Violet is made by 50% each of Blue and Red. Red-Orange is made up of 75% red and 25% yellow, whereas, Yellow-Orange is 25% red and 75%yellow and Orange is made by 50% each of Red and Yellow. Yellow-Green is made up of 75% yellow and 25% blue, whereas, Blue-Green is 25% yellow and 75% blue and Green is made by 50% each of  Yellow and Blue.
